 About Getting To Yes Mediation Services
My name is Jutta Lehmer and I am the mediator for Getting to Yes Mediation Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I am very passionate about the field of mediation. It never ceases to amaze me how relieved people are when at the end of a mediation they have resolved their own conflict. I am committed to bringing the practice of mediation to greater public awareness because I believe mediation has tremendous value for humankind as a whole. I believe in empowering people to find their own solutions to their problems.
I have taken several recognized trainings in various aspects of mediation from Basic Mediation to Family/Divorce Mediation. I have furthered my knowledge by attending workshops on cultural sensitivity, issues concerning the GLBT community, ethical considerations, succesful negotiating and win-win conflict resolution. I keep current on mediation research by reading about the field. I have been a member of the New Mexico Mediation Association since 2009.
Since my first training in 2008 I have mediated dozens of cases varying from landlord/tenant issues over contractor/client conflicts to relationship coflicts, divorces, time-sharing and custody. Recently I have started mediating for the 13th Judicial District Court of New Mexico for divorces and parentage cases without lawyer presence. I am also a facilitator for the City of Albuquerque's Land Use Program which allows neighbors to get heard on zoning issues. Additionally, I hold a Bachelor of Arts in communication and a minor in psycholoy from The University of New Mexico.
Depending on your needs I can mediate solo or bring in a co-mediator.
My style is generally facilitative/transformative based on my trainings. This means the parties in conflict are empowered to find their own solutions. I assist with the process and the communication. I do not make recommendations, suggest solutions, assess your legal position or try to determine who is right or wrong. Together we figure out how to go from positions to interests.
